The natural diamond, explained
Move the controls and watch each of the 4Cs change the stone. Then compare natural and lab-grown honestly — and see what a HATO ring is worth years from now.
What the options mean
Every HATO ring lets you choose a gold purity and a diamond grade. Here is what each one tells you.
Karat = parts of gold in 24
18K means 18 parts pure gold out of 24. The rest is an alloy of metals such as silver, copper and zinc, which sets the colour — yellow, white or rose — and adds strength.
| Purity | Pure gold | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 9K | 37.5% | The hardest-wearing and the gentlest on the budget, with a softer gold colour. |
| 14K | 58.5% | A balance of richer colour and everyday strength. |
| 18K | 75% | The most gold and the richest colour, slightly softer — the classic choice for fine jewellery. |
HATO’s three diamond grades
Colour runs from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). Clarity measures tiny natural inclusions under 10× magnification. Your certificate states both.
| Grade | Colour | Clarity |
|---|---|---|
| EF VVS | E–F · colourless, an icy white | VVS · very, very slightly included: inclusions are extremely hard to see even at 10× |
| GH VVS | G–H · near-colourless, white to the eye | VVS · very, very slightly included: inclusions are extremely hard to see even at 10× |
| IJ-VVS | I–J · near-colourless, a faint warmth in some light | VVS · very, very slightly included: inclusions are extremely hard to see even at 10× |
Clarity scale, best to most included: FL · IF · VVS1 · VVS2 · VS1 · VS2 · SI1 · SI2 · I1–I3
Same sparkle. Different story.
Both are real carbon crystals with the same hardness and brilliance. The difference is origin — and what that means for rarity and value.
| Natural diamond (HATO) | Lab-grown diamond | |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Formed in the earth over billions of years | Grown in a factory in weeks |
| Look & hardness | Identical to the eye · 10 on the Mohs scale | Identical to the eye · 10 on the Mohs scale |
| Rarity | Finite supply — every stone unique | Produced to order, in any quantity |

What your ring is worth, later
Estimate your lifetime buyback and exchange value under HATO’s published policy. Enter the value on your HATO invoice.
Estimate only. Both values are on HATO’s invoice value, excluding taxes. Exchange credit is capped at ₹3,00,000 and is issued as a credit note valid 30 days. Buyback needs the invoice, certificate and a quality check; custom orders are excluded.
Proof, in writing
Every HATO natural diamond ring comes with a certificate from one of two independent laboratories.
IGI
The International Gemological Institute — one of the most widely used labs for certified diamond jewellery.
SGL
Solitaire Gemological Laboratories — an Indian laboratory grading diamonds and jewellery.
